My role

The Four Real Time Stories Of Hikmah (Wisdom) Of The Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Salla-Allahu'alayhi was-salaam)...

(1) SACRIFICE OF THE LAMB

Just as the Prophet (S.A.W.), and his companions landed from their rides, and laid the loads down, it was decided that they would sacrifice a lamb for dinner.

One of the companions volunteered: "I will sacrifice the lamb."
Another: "I will skin it."
Third: "I will cook it."
Fourth: "I will...."

The Prophet (S.A.W.): "I will gather the wood from the desert."
The group: "O Messenger of Allah, it is not becoming of you to discomfort yourself as such. You rest. We will be honored to do all this on our own."

The Prophet (S.A.W.): "I know that you are eager to do it all, but Allah isn't pleased with the slave who distinguishes between himself and his companions, and considers himself better than others."

Then he went to the desert, and gathered some wood, and brought it to the group.

What now?

Audhubillah hi minas syaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem.

Your mind is your instrument. Learn to be its master and not its slave

Seek truth in meditation, not in moldy books. Look in the sky to find the moon, not in the pond

Through meditation and by giving full attention to one thing at a time, we can learn to direct attention where we choose.

What is meditation you ask?
la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
I do not know :)
for each their own as they say..
may your way be better than mine.

“Subhanaka, la ‘ilma lana illa ma ‘alamtana, innaka Anta’l ‘Alimu’l Hakim...” (Sura 2:32)
Allahu akbar... Ya ‘Alimu, ya Hakim, ‘alimna ma yanfa’una wa zidna ‘ilman!

A poet says:

That which is not ordained, will never come to pass.
The predestined shall be; and needs it not a cause.
The fated will happen indeed, but at the time assigned
Ignorants tire and worry; to grief they are consigned
It’s likely what you fear, may never come to be -
Your hope to attain which, mayhap you’ll never see
The strong and sterling cannot, achieve by sweat or skill
Such fortunes weak and worthless; attain by luck’s spell.

Mbak ilekk...

In times of madness, when you feel pulled and tugged from every direction...please, have patience. Know that you are never alone. But will YOU stay? Times that we feel loneliness are actually the times when we left what is most important. You will never walk alone. But you can think that you are alone.

When you walk, through a storm,
hold your head up high,
and don't be afraid of the dark,
at the end of the storm is a golden sky,
and sweet silver song of the lark,
walk on, through the rain,
walk on, through the rain,
though your dreams be tossed and blown away,
walk on,
walk on,
with hope in your heart,
and you'll never walk alone.

walk on.

Now for a story:

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see and asked the students, ‘How much do you think this glass weighs?’

‘50 gms!’ …. ‘100 gms!’ …… ‘125 gms’ …… the students answered.

‘I really don’t know unless I weigh it,’ said the professor, ‘but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?’

‘Nothing’ the students said.

‘Ok! What would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?’ the professor asked.

‘Your arm would begin to ache’, said one of the students.

‘You’re right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?’

‘Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress and paralysis and have to go to hospital for sure!’ ventured another student; and all the students laughed.

‘Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?’ asked the professor.

‘No’

‘Then what caused the arm ache and the muscle stress?’ The students were puzzled.

‘Put the glass down!’ said one of the students.

‘Exactly!’ said the professor. ‘Life’s problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head and they seem okay. Think of them for a long time and they begin to ache. Hold it even longer and they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything’.

‘It’s important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to have trust in Allah (swt) and to ‘put them down’ at the end of every day before you go to sleep. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh and strong and can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!’

So, as it becomes time for you to leave office today, Remember friend to ‘PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY’ and have tranquility by putting trust in Almighty Allah (swt).

Holy Quran: “He it is who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they might have more faith added to their faith”. (48:4) Tranquility is sign of strong faith while worries and stress is sign of weak faith.

Tell to your mind every day before you go to sleep: “YAA AYYATUHA NAFSUL MUTMAINNAH, IRJI’II ILAA RABBIKI RADHIYATAN MARDHIYYAH, FADKHULII FII IBAADII WADKHULII JANNATII”. (Al-Fajr 89:27-30)

“O soul that is at rest satisfied. Return to your Lord well-pleased (with Him), well-pleasing (Him). So, enter among My servants, and enter into my Paradise”.

For whats its worth..

The mighty King Mahmud of Ghazna, out hunting one day, was separated from his party. He came upon the smoke of a small fire and rode to the spot, where he found an old woman with a pot.
Mahmud said:

‘You have as guest today the monarch. What are you cooking on your fire ?’

The crone said:

‘This is a bean stew.’

The emperor asked her:

‘Old lady, will you not give me some?’

‘I will not,’ she said, ‘for this is only for me. Your kingdom is not worth what these beans are worth. You may want my beans, but I don’t want anything you have. My beans are worth a hundred times more than all you have. Look at your enemies, who challenge your possessions in every particular. I am free, and I have my own beans.’

The mighty Mahmud looked at the undisputed owner of the beans, thought of his disputed domains, and wept.

Allahu Allah

Allah

I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, but He
was not there; I went to the Temple of the
Hindus and to the old pagodas, but I could not
find a trace of Him anywhere.

I searched on the mountains and in the valleys
but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I
able to find Him. I went to the Ka'bah in Mecca,
but He was not there either.

I questioned the scholars and philosophers but
He was beyond their understanding.

I then looked into my heart and it was there
where He dwelled that I saw Him; He was
nowhere else to be found.

Dunia: Satu Penilaian

Ekperimen: Menilai dunia setelah tarikh luput spesimen

I'm Better than You

Yes...That is the problem.

Whats the difference when you put a king in the grave and the beggar in the grave?

But still... I am BETTER THAN YOU!

accompany me on my death procession and you'll see how better I am and why I've fought and clutched my worldly possessions tightly.

then come and see where they buried that beggar from around the corner.

Yes, you'll see all the difference then.

Yes.We'll see.See it bright as the sun in our faces.

Kullu nafsin zaa iqatul mauts!
All soul shall taste death! will meet you there :)

They say the wheat cannot grow
In the desert or amidst snow
Will the clouds bring their rain?
Will the snow melt once again?
In the meantime will wheat survive?
Will this grain become alive?

I seem to be that lone grain
In my desert silent remain
Endure the draught and sandy pain
Till the clouds wash me again.
They say clouds will only rain
When they decide. We wish in vain.

No matter how brilliant a mind
A soul that’s wise, a heart that’s kind
When lost in this endless space
Walking the desert pace after pace
When of grace there’s no trace
It is futile for us to chase
The spirit we try to embrace;
God in God’s time reveals God’s face.

My Mercy encompasses My Wrath

‘To You, the Creator, I raise my longing,
And even if I am, O possessor of kindness and generosity, an evildoer, a criminal

When my heart became constricted and my paths became narrow,
I took my hope in Your pardon and forgiveness as an opening and an escape

My sins seemed very great to me but when I compared them to Your forgiveness,
I found Your forgiveness to be much greater

You are and still remain the only One who can forgive sins,
You grant and forgive out of Your benevolence and generosity

Were it not for You, then a servant could never defy Iblis
And how can that be when he mislead Your friend Adam

If only I knew! Will I arrive at Paradise that I may take delight
Or at Hellfire, that I may regret?

How capable is Allah! For the one acquainted with lament,
blood almost flows from his eyelids due to the excess of his emotions (lament)

He stands when the night extends out its darkness
Stands against himself out of extreme fear, sinful

Eloquent when he makes mention of his Lord
And in the mention of others than Him, he is speechless

He remembers days gone by of his youth
And what was in it of ignorance, he was a criminal

And so for the whole of his day, the companion of grief has become
the brother of sleeplessness and secret conversation when the night darkens

He says, ‘My beloved, You are what I request and desire
You are enough of a longing and benefit for those who have hope

Are You not the One who has provided for me and guided me
And You have not ceased being gracious to me and full of favours

Perhaps the Beneficent One will forgive my mistakes
And cover up my crime and what has gone forth

My sins seemed very great to me, so I turned (to You) in humility
Were it not for my contentment in you, I wouldn’t, O my Lord, have seen any comfort at all

So if You forgive me, You would have forgiven a sinner,
A rebellious, oppressive tyrant still sinning

So if You were to seek revenge from me, I would not despair
Even if they entered my soul into Jahannum, due to the sins

For my crimes are great, past and present
But Your forgiveness comes to the servant, more exalted and more great

The bounty of Allaah surrounds me from all sides
And Light from the Most Merciful has spread in the sky

And in the heart is the radiance of the beloved when he is reunited
And when glad tidings draw close, it becomes feverish

Exhilaration surrounds me, only for Allaah
It overlooks me in the darkness of the grave, apparent and clear

I protect my love, lest my desires should pollute it
And I preserve the contract of love, lest it be defiled

In my wakefulness is yearning and in my slumber is destiny
That’s pursuing my footsteps in ecstasy

Whoever holds fast to Allaah, he is protected from men
And whoever hopes for Him, then never will he regret

Imam Shafi’s Poem
- Extended version of the poem he said, whilst on his deathbed.

May Allah forgive our past, present and future sins.

Knowthing

“Subhanaka, la ‘ilma lana illa ma ‘alamtana, innaka Anta’l ‘Alimu’l Hakim...” (Sura 2:32)
Allahu akbar... Ya ‘Alimu, Ya Hakim, ‘alimna ma yanfa’una wa zidna ‘ilman!

(And the Angels said:) “Praise be to You, we have no knowledge except that which you taught us- You are the Knowing, the Wise One...” (al-Baqarah,ayat 32)
Allahu Akbar... Oh Knowing One, Oh Wise One, teach us what is beneficial for us and increase our knowledge always!

Hati orang yang bermakrifah

Rindunya Hati orang yang berma'rifah,
kepada mengingati Tuhan.
Dan sebutan mereka waktu bermunajah
adalah untuk kerahsiaan.

Diperedarkan piala piala,
bagi takdir Tuhan kepada mereka.
Maka berpalinglah dari dunia
seperti berpalingnya orang yang bersyukur !

Cita cita mereka itu berkeliling,
ditempat kediaman tentara.
di situ orang orang yang mencintai Allah
seperti bintang bintang yang bersinar cahaya

Tubuh Mereka itu di Bumi
terbunuh disebabkan kecintaannya.
Arwah mereka di tempat terdinding yang sepi
menempuh ke arah yang tinggi dengan segera.

Something About Bees

The bee goes to every flower regardless of its colour, to take something sweet from it.

"Just like bees, we must take the honey from every flower (every culture) and use it to better every flower (everyone)"
Abdallah of Mile-End

Listen:
Every petal of every flower chiming;
love me, love me, love me.

Serve

We love to serve, not to be served. When we serve, Allah is happy with us, and this brings more attraction to the Divine Presence and Allah opens that state more for us. However, to be served, brings pride and weakness to the heart and causes us to recede from the Divine Presence. [Shah Naqshband (q) ]

Forgive us for whatever we have missed out during this blessed month of Ramadhan,
and with your permission, bless us to reach the next Ramadhan.
Certainly no might nor will have we other than what is Yours.

I Beg of You

“Is there anyone who can give something to this beggar? A whole heart? Is there anyone giving away a pure, whole heart?”

For a whole heart, I would give the life of this world: every moment of monotone emotion felt, every numb pleasure that kills my soul, every restless feeling that eats away inside.

For a whole heart, I would give away all my broken dreams, gathering each piece from it’s scattered place, blown in every direction by the winds of confusion and desire.

For a whole heart, I would give all of my bitter tears, shed from mistaken hurts and affected wrongs, or complexities that I myself constructed.

For a whole heart, I would give my own tongue that speaks ill instead of truth.

I would give my very eyes, that see the night sky in all it’s splendor, and that still choose slumber over vigil.

I would give my soul, troubled and heavy, always foolishly choosing darkness over Light.

But who would accept this currency or this exchange?

I’m just a poor beggar, with nothing to give. Instead, I depend on the compassion of the Owner to fulfill my needs, and be generous with me, though I have nothing to give Him in return; my worthless possessions clutched tight.

No Wing

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

Imam Shafi had said "Knowledge is not what is memorized,it is what benefits". Maybe it is time for us to reflect what we are doing. Are we gaining more knowledge or are we merely wanting recognition through our learning. Are we like donkeys carrying books? Why burden yourself with information that you are not using? It is said act upon what you have known first, then you search more. O you who are slaves of 'learning',why do you want more yet fail to act upon what you already know? Learning might be an admirable trait, but how often have we acted on what we already know? Then why ask for more? You like the papers to be proof that you are knowledgeable ? How foolish we have become. We need pieces of paper to put value on us.
Look how far we have become.

Have you not traveled the vast earth and took lessons from what you saw?
Certainly you are not burdened more than what you can carry.
La yukallifullah hu nafsan illa wuss aha

O Donkey, the more books you carry, sooner you are going to break your back.
A lot of "knowledge" today are like air,and our heads are balloons. The more we fill it the bigger our heads get. And later it might just float away, leaving our body. useless. or worse EXPLODE.Thus we become majnun, "crazies". Helium would have been MUCH worse!

O Allah fill not our heads with useless knowledge, however "useful" it might seem to us.
O Allah,we are blind, please bless us with sight.
O Allah, we are deaf, please bless us with hearing.
O Allah,we are dumb, please bless us with Your invocations on our tongues.
O Allah,we are non sense, please bless us with reason.

O Allah, make us nothing, so You can fill us with everything.

No knowledge have we other than what You have taught us, verily You are the only Knower and The Wise.

No mind people. That is what we have become. Astaghfirullah.

-Peace be to you-

I Will Stay

I will stay

I will never leave this house of light,
I will never leave this blessed town
for here I have found my love
and here I will stay for the rest of my life.
If this world turns into a sea of trouble
I will brave the waves and steer my mind's ship
to the safe shore of love.

If you are a seeker looking for profit go on
and may God be with you,
but I am not willing to exchange my truth,
I have found the heart and will never leave
this house of light.

Read in The Name

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,

Bismillah...
Iqra' Bismi Rabb bikal lazi khalaq.

Read in the Name of the Lord that has created you.
Whatever we read,it must be a reminder for us of our Lord. Therefore read in the Name of the Creator, and may it be beneficial for us.Insha Allah.
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem. Expect nothing from ourselves, and everything from Him. fa ilayka nashku da'fana. To Him we complain of our every weakness. and that is enough.

May whatever we read be a source of light ,"nur" for us.
Everything is from Him,and if He wills, will lead us back to Him. Insha Allah.

Kegelapan memenuhi diriku wahai Tuhan

Wahai Tuhan, Engkau selalu bersama-samaku
Tetapi aku jauh daripadaMu

Tiada penyelamat bagiku melainkan Engkau
Tiada penyelamat dan tiada penyelamat melainkan Engkau
Wahai Tuhanku.. Wahai Tuhanku...

Fly towards Eternity

In the dead of night, a Sufi began to weep.

He said, “This world is like a closed coffin, in which

We are shut and in which, through our ignorance,

We spend our lives in folly and desolation.

When Death comes to open the lid of the coffin,

Each one who has wings will fly off to Eternity,

But those without will remain locked in the coffin.

So, my friends, before the lid of this coffin is taken off,

Do all you can to become a bird of the Way to God;

Do all you can to develop your wings and your feathers.”

Farid ud Din Attar

Oceans of Mercy

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

Alhamdulillah, Ramadan is upon us. May Allah grant us with His Mercy Oceans in this blessed month. Somethings has to start somewhere,it has to start somehow. What better place than here, what better time than now.

As it begins, it will also end.But the "spirit" of Ramadan should be with us all the time.
O our Lord, leave us,leave our hearts to be with Ramadan.Bodily we might be going away from Ramadan, but let our souls be in those Mercy Oceans that You opened during Ramadan.

He is Allah; He gives.

As much as we may ask,it is nothing beside what You are giving us.Then You give to us,O our Lord.We do not know what to ask.

-Peace be to you-

Burst into Silence

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

Silence is the absence of sound, beyond relation, featureless, unimaginable in which all is still..and yet there is a beyond.

Make no mistake.Silence of the tongue is mere childs' play ( for some at least :P ) but to be as silent inwardly as outwardly is a whole thing altogether.

How can you strive and struggle for something that is nothing? How can you grasp something without matter, without form? Can you fill space with emptyness?

Just let it come.If only for a moment, let go of "I". Forget "me". And revel in the deafening sound of silence.Feel the turbulence of stillness. Ha Ha Ha talk about contradicting terms :)

Pay the price of silence and a thousand voices answer; speak and silence alone replies. It is in silence the secret speak.

Why are you so afraid of silence,
silence is the root of everything.
If you spiral into its void
a hundred voices will thunder
messages you long to hear.

See how the seed sprouts silently and grows into a magnificent oak tree.In silence it was hidden underground, nourished and grows reaching to the skies.

How silently flowers bloom
With it removing all this gloom.

O wretched soul! How long will you need to explain yourself? O you who are captivated by speech, when will you listen? O you who are enslaved to reason when will you understand? Though your speech might be eloquent, when will you be as adept in silence?

Learn silence as you had learnt speech, even more so.
Those who don't understand silence, won't understand these words.

Our flawed reasoning cannot measure nor explain, nor can we comprehend, therefore refrain.
Be quiet, our words are not the end of the matter. They do not have any weigh.Words against words, nothing more.
If words express it,we have not found it.

And how beautifully our Mevlana from Konya tells us:

Carry your baggage toward silence:
when you seek the signs of the Way,
don't make yourself the focus of attention.
The Prophet said, "Know that amidst the sea of cares
my Companions are like guiding stars."
Fix your eye on the stars and seek the Way;
speech confuses the sight: be silent.

O Allah! How You reveal to the soul that place where speech is growing without letters.

Do crack my heart
through your silence
for I love the sound it makes
every time it breaks
surrender is good music

The sun which sets today
will rise tomorrow
nor love will lie in laziness
for it is love who maps the path
for sun and moon to follow

If love is strong
It can't go wrong.

Now it is time for silence.

Kalau belum makan rambutan, bagaimana nak paham rasanya?

Dengarlah tuan satu cerita
Cerita dongeng orang tua-tua
Kisah tuk nujum yang terus mata
Bukannya betul semuanya auta.

keh keh keh ..Cobaaaaan :)

Alive!

Love is alive
And someone borne along by it is more alive
than lions roaring
or men in their fierce courage.
Bandits ambush others on the road.
they get wealth,
but they stay in one place.
Lovers keep moving,
never the same, not for a second.
What make others grieve,they enjoy.
When they look angry,
do not believe their faces.
It is like spring lightning,
a joke before the rain.
They chew thorns thoughtfully,
along with pasture grass.
Gazelle and lioness having dinner.
Love is invisible except here,in us.
Sometimes i praise love.
Sometimes love praise me.

Regarding Path(s)

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

In an age where it seems that there are many people that teach but nothing is known, where words flow on endlessly but leads nowhere, where the price of everything is known but none of its value. And what better way to sum it all up:

"an age of guided missiles and misguided men"

the weariness that one might feel is quite understandable.

Excellent let us now begin.
In quality of mind it is depth that matters.
One who excels in traveling leaves no wheel track behind.

Come and take a journey that will lead to a world that begins where language ends. And which path should we take? Maybe this could be of some use :

Any path is only a path, and there is no affront(insult, disrespect),to oneself or to others,in leaving it if that is what your heart tells you.. Look at every path closely and deliberately.Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question...Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good,if it does not it is of no use.

Just like the birds that take to sky, fishes in the sea, and worms buried deep in the belly of earth. We too must make our way,....eventually :) or risk of forever being trapped, unable to move.Mobility, that is the word that is being thrown around nowadays.hahaha

and let us remember now.

to remember a few words on the tongue is one thing, and to have those same words as "NAQSH" -engraved- on your heart in tranquility is another thing altogether.

to remember is to understand

A good Teacher remembers what it was to be a student,
A good Editor remembers being a writer,
A good Parent remembers what it was like to be a child,

A good Human remembers what it was like to be.

as the very familiar quote goes;
to be or not to be,that is the question! :)

Tareqat

A man asked Sidi Abu Hassan As-Shadili that he was intrigued by why he was always wearing fine clothes eventhough he is one of the waliyullah and furthermore with the rank of Qutb.
In contrast the asking man was only using worn out and coarse clothes so as to be known as someone who is a zahid (someone who abstains from worldly attachments). Sidi Abu Hassan As-Shadili replies:

"Libaasukum hazaa yaquulu innallaha faqiirun wa libaasunaa haazaa yaquulu innallaha ghaniyuun jamiilun yuhibbul jamaal".

"Your worn out clothes states that Allah Taala is poor and while my fine clothes states that Allah is the All Sufficient and is Beautiful and loves what is beautiful".

The lesson:
Each and every action is according to its intention.

A wolf in chicken clothing is still a wolf and will still eat the chicken. :)

May God purify our intentions.

Truth and Falsehood

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

One is independent while another is dependent. .Now choose. .Be at peace. .Be silent.

Dream not of lights,
Of marvels, of miracles
For your miracles are contained
In submitting to the Truth;
All else is pride, conceit,
And illusion of existence.

-Shabistari

There is hope after the time of desperation.
There is the Eye of the Heart in blindness.

You won't know your blindness
without seeing the light.
How do you know white
Without seeing black?

There are hundreds of thousands
Of forms which look alike.
There are hundred of thousands
Of meanings and reasons which depend
On this unseen King's secret control.
That King moves these forms and meanings
Like the wind moves the leaves
Of the tree of silence.

There is Love where there is scolding.
Every incomplete thing is pulled toward completion.
Try to see the unseen events clearly.
Be silent!

from: selected new verses from Divan-i Kebir of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi

" wa qul ja'al haqqu wa zahaqal baatilu innal baatila kana zahuqa "

And say: truth has arrived, and falsehood perished; for falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish

Surah Al-Isra' verse 81

And truth can live all alone, but falsehood needs truth to exist.
Either you exist or you perish.

of all faith,of every infidelity,
Be silent!

Orang celik makan durian rasa durian
Orang celik nampak buah durian
Orang buta tak nampak buah durian

Got Something to Remember?

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

You remember most often what you love the most.
and there are two types of remembrance(zikr):

tafakkur and tadzakkur.

tafakkur is zikr of the mind while tadzakkur is zikr of the heart.

Know that the mind is a path to the soul. All our outward senses are tied to our mind.Though the mind might act as a "filter"of sort, but too much dirt might allow some dirtyness to reach our heart.
while our hearts belong to the realm of divine but seldom are we able to "tune-in" due to this dirt.We either get fuzzy signals or total blackout. What a pity full state to be in.

hearts reflect what is from sight.whether you see as it is or a distorted image is dependent on the clarity of the heart as a mirror.

therefore arises the matter of looking at the same object but seeing different things.
this is a conundrum that we are too familiar with words i.e: the same words used to describe different things.. aah how wonderful silence is :)

tadzakkur clarifies the heart.
tafakkur purifies the mind.

have you not heard of the parable of His light:

...the parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree,an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow forth(of itself) though no fire has touched it.Light upon Light!Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything.

An-Nur verse 35

Polish the glass and let the brilliance of this lamp shine through.Lest you allow this light to die out for certainly the light is not yours,it is a mere grant from the One.He giveth and He taketh as He pleases.

tafakkur might feel heavy,
but tadzakkur is weightless-ness,liberation

what better way to "taste" weightless-ness after feeling heaviness.
O you who have never tasted bitterness, how will you know that it is sweetness that you are tasting? Perchance it is pure bile that you are savouring.

doesn't it feel nice after you scratch that itch? :)
if there was no itch, you would not "taste" that wonderful feeling.Ha ha ha

wonderful feeling indeed.or is it just me? :)

O our Lord, forgive us for certainly we have not remembered You as You ought to be remembered

O our Lord, bless us by granting us Your remembrance

certainly there is no will nor might except that of Yours,Most High,The Incomparably Great.

Betapa indah sang Darwis malang setiap hari merintih,
Penyesalannya di pagi hari pun terdengar oleh
dosa lainnya lagi.

Segenap sumpah kami sentiasa berubah-ubah,

Inna solati lillahi

"So remember me,I will remember you!"

Ibn 'Ata illah al-Iskandari says:

"If you were to only reach Allah after the end of all your bad points and the erasure of all your thinking pretensions you would never reach Him. Rather, when He wants you to reach Him, He covers your trait with His trait, your worthlessness with His worth."

O Allah, guide me to reach your love,no other than You,no other than Huu

innas solaati wa nusuki wa mahyaaya wa mamaati lillahi rabbil 'alameen

verily your worship, your sacrifices, your very life and death is for Allah,Lord of the
universe.Everythings starts with Huu and ends with Huu.Huu Allah. No you, only Huu.

One I seek, One I know, One I see, One I call

Qul hu Allah hu Ahad.Allah hu ssomad.Lam yalid wa lam yuulad.Wa lam yaqullahu ku fuwan Ahad.

A Riddle

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

There is one thing in this world that must never be forgotten. If you were to forget all else, but did not forget that, then you would have no reason to worry. But if you performed and remembered everything else, yet forgot that one thing, then you would have done nothing whatsoever..

Fihi ma Fihi

Say: Shall we tell you of those whose efforts have been wasted in this life in respect of their deeds? Those whose effort have been wasted in this life, while they thought that they were acquiring good by their works.

Al-Kahfi verses 103-104

Should you worry?

Our Death Is Our Wedding

Our death is our wedding with eternity.
What is the secret? "God is One."
The sunlight splits when entering the windows of the house.
This multiplicity exists in the cluster of grapes;
It is not in the juice made from the grapes.
For he who is living in the Light of God,
The death of the carnal soul is a blessing.
Regarding him, say neither bad nor good,
For he is gone beyond the good and the bad.
Fix your eyes on God and do not talk about what is invisible,
So that he may place another look in your eyes.
It is in the vision of the physical eyes
That no invisible or secret thing exists.
But when the eye is turned toward the Light of God
What thing could remain hidden under such a Light?
Although all lights emanate from the Divine Light
Don't call all these lights "the Light of God";
It is the eternal light which is the Light of God,
The ephemeral light is an attribute of the body and the flesh.
...Oh God who gives the grace of vision!
The bird of vision is flying towards You with the wings of desire.

Ilham

"It is said that after Muhammad and the prophets revelation does not descend upon anyone else. Why not? In fact it does, but then it is not called 'revelation.' It is what the Prophet referred to when he said, 'The believer sees with the Light of God.' When the believer looks with 'The believer sees with the Light of God.' When the believer looks with God's Light, he sees all things: the first and the last, the present and the absent. For how can anything be hidden from God's Light? And if something is hidden, then it is not the Light of God. Therefore the meaning of revelation exists, even if it is not called revelation."

Kenalilah dahulu

Berkata Sayidina Ali r.a :

Kenalilah Islam dahulu barulah kamu kenal manusia, nescaya kamu boleh melihat kebenaran dan kebatilannya.
Jika kenal manusia dahulu baru Islam, nescaya kebenaran Islam hanya dilihat melalui kata-kata dan perbuatannya walaupun ia adalah batil (tidak benar).

Borrowed Light

O brother, Wisdom is pouring into you
from the beloved saint of God.
You've only borrowed it.
Although the house of your heart
is lit from inside,
that light is lent by a luminous neighbor.
Give thanks; don't be arrogant or vain;
pay attention without self-importance.
It's sad that this borrowed state
has put religious communities
far from religious communion.

Flow to the Ocean

A'udhu billah hi minassyaitan nir rajeem,
Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem,
La hawla wala quwwata illa billah hil aliyyil azeem

Go with the flow.or should we? nowadays it seems to be a catch phrase of sorts to simply "go with the flow".What it means this poor soul has yet fail to understand. From what little can be made of it,it simply means to relent to what is the norm in a particular society.Whether it is right or wrong is none of my business to say.But lets remind ourselves that not every stream flows to the sea. Some might end in the sewage and stagnate, creating an awful stench. We are mere drops of water hoping to reach the ocean.May God lead us to the right path (sirat al mustaqim) with His Love(Wadood) and Compassion(Raheem) lest we are unable to bear His Majesty(Jalal) and severity (Qahhar).Only He knows.

be the drop that became the ocean.in the ocean no drops remain, all are the same.annihilation.unity in the vastness.endless.

Only those who are at peace can make peace.
Only those who have love can give love.
If you want mercy be merciful.
Mercy is spread by those who are mercy full.

Hadrat Abdul Qadir al-Gaylani q.s. says, "My son, first educate yourself, put yourself on the straight path, then to the others. You know that you yourself, are in need, how can you satisfy the needs of others. Your eyes can see only the distance one step away, while you are trying to lead the blind.

How many times have we heard these kinds of sayings(i.e:those conveying the same message). We constantly say it is so "cliche","oh I've heard that like a thousand times" etc, etc. But maybe the actual question is "have I ever ACTUALLY understood the meaning?".Maybe what we need is not something new,but a fresh perspective. Is it not the window that determines how much sunshine that gets to our room. And remember the lost is our own. Realise that the sun does not stop shining even though we close our eyes.
May God grant us the decency to open our eyes and see.

hantarannya adalah sakit dan nazak,
Tamu bertandang menghadiahkan tangisan,
Pengantin dimandikan, dipakaikan baju berwarna putih,
Wangian gaharu cendana jadi pelamin,
Pengantin bersanding sendirian, diarak keliling kampung,

Al-Fatihah -8 Rajab 1427-

Qullu nafsin zaa iqatul maut! Semua yang hidup pasti merasa mati!

Ali-Imraan ayat 185

apa-apapun, apa-apa sahajalah, tambah lagi sa-tu pantun:

sudah gaharu,cendana pula,
dah tak tahu,melawaklah sahaja.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
